Position: Founder
Authority: Latinos Unidos of Iowa, Inc. By-Laws

Duties, Responsibilities and Deadlines:
1. Is a voting member of the Board.
2. Presides at meetings when President and/or Vice President are not available.
3. Assumes President‘s duties should the President become unable to complete term.
4. With treasurer establishes a procedure to transfer monies from membership chair.
5. Works with membership chair to prepare plan to increase memberships.
6. Promotes participation of all activities and events.
7. Writes article for the quarterly Latinos Unidos Newsletter.
8. Works closely with Officers, Directors, and Committees to support the mission.

Position: President
How Attained: Automatically assumes the position from President-Elect
Authority: Rules set by Secretary of State and By-Laws
Term: Varies
Duties, Responsibilities and Deadlines:
1. Presides over all meetings of the Board and the general membership.
2. Prepares all meeting agendas and send them to Secretary one week prior to meeting.
3. Writes annual reports for Board review at January meeting.
4. Sends annual report to all donors no later than February.
5. Submits report to IRS as required to maintain 501c3 status
6. Serves as an ex officio member of all committees.
7. Is the liaison between the directors, officers, and committee members.
8. Directs the secretary to prepare letters for the President’s signature.
9. Presents events budgets at the March board meeting for board approval.
10. Writes article for quarterly Latino Unidos Newsletter.
11. Leads fundraising efforts
12. Responsible for Sponsor and Donor databases.
13. Provides first follow up to all scholarship donor requests.

Position: Vice President
How Attained: Elected by the Board at annual meeting.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Deadlines:
1. Is a voting member of the Board.
2. Presides at all meetings at which the President or Founder are not present.
3. Submits an article for Latinos Unidos Newsletter.
4. Responsible for oversight of Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner, Awards Banquet, Resource Fair, and volunteer picnic.
5. Works with all Committee Chairs for successful activities and meeting deadlines.
6. Prints, distributes, and tracks all event tickets and resource fair vendor applications.
7. Prepares scholarship sponsors and donor requests
8. Prepares all scholarship sponsor and donor thank you letters.

Position: Treasurer
How Attained: Elected by the Board at annual meeting
Authority: Latinos Unidos of Iowa, Inc. By-Laws
Term: Varies
Duties, Responsibilities and Deadlines:
1. Is a voting member of the Board.
2. Is the custodian of all funds for Latinos Unidos of Iowa, Inc., maintains and records all income and expenses, issues payment for all authorized expenditures and performs duties assigned by President and/or Board.
3. Makes arrangements with the outgoing Treasurer and arrange for the transfer of records as soon as the year end reports are completed.
4. Arranges with the President for the auditing to ensure the audit is complete every four years starting with 2012.
5. Establishes accounts at financial institution as approved by board.
6. Posts all income and expenses to the appropriate account.
7. Provides to the Annual Meeting a cumulative, detailed account of receipts and expenditures and funds on hand.
8. Submits a financial report of operations for the year at the first regular meeting following the close of each year calendar year allowing the President to include it in the annual report.

Duties, Responsibilities and Deadlines:
1. Is a voting member of the Board.
2. Responsible for all correspondence concerning regular business.
3. Provides Public Relations Chair with notice of all meetings and events.
4. Responsible for minutes of all meetings prepared and distributed.
5. Responsible for entering the minutes of all Board meetings
6. Sends out previous meeting’s minutes with the agenda one week prior to each meeting.
7. Maintains the permanent record of correspondence.
8. Maintains member database.
9. Sends out dues renewal notice every December.

Position: Immediate Past President
How Attained: Succeeds from Presidency
Authority: Latinos Unidos of Iowa, Inc. By-Laws
Duties, Responsibilities, and Deadlines:
1. Is a voting member of the Board.
2. Acts as an advisor to the President and the Board.
3. Turns over all materials to the President.
4. Helps to oversee programs and projects by volunteering support.
5. Writes article for Latinos Unidos Newsletter

1. Ares voting members of the Board.
2. Serve as Committee Chair
