Iowa Latina/o Education Initiative Conference Oct. 16, 2013

Dear Colleagues:

 

The Community College Leadership Program (CCLP), the School of Education (SOE), the College of Human Sciences, Iowa State University and the Iowa Community College Presidents are continuing a statewide initiative that underscores the needs of Latina/o students in Iowa.  The goal of the Iowa Latina/o Education Initiative Conference is to continue a collective conversation among the various constituencies experiencing similar growth that will lead to the development of promising practices and statewide strategies for student success. 

 

The conference will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the FFA Enrichment Center on the DMACC Ankeny campus.  The keynote speaker is:
Dr. Loui Olivas, President, American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE).  The featured speakers are:  Dr. Maria Harper-Marinick, Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost,  Maricopa Community Colleges and
Dr. Felix Aquino, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Oklahoma City Community College
