Northwest Area Foundation (NWAF) Event

Join NWAF on November 5th for a special one day event in West Des Moines to celebrate innovative strategies to create good jobs and develop household financial security in Iowa. We will feature national, state and local leaders and together explore policies and strategies that empower people to obtain quality employment and build and protect their savings and assets. This event is designed for service providers, government, researchers, educational institutions, financial institutions and small businesses.

The Northwest Area Foundation is committed to the well-being of the people in our region. We support efforts across our eight states to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable prosperity. We focus on the work of proven or promising organizations — those that have demonstrated success and those that are on the cutting edge and poised to do innovative work in poverty reduction.

NWAF welcomes guest speaker Jennifer Brooks, Director of State & Local Policy at CFED in Washington, D.C. CFED is a multi-faceted organization working at the local, state, and federal levels to create economic opportunity that alleviates poverty. Ms. Brooks leads the Assets & Opportunity Network, through which she provides policy expertise, technical assistance, resources, and strategic advice to advocates, service providers, and other stakeholders working to expand the reach and deepen the impact of asset-based strategies.
