How Latinos Unidos of Iowa Scholarship has helped me. The Latinos Unidos of Iowa Scholarship has helped me soar and make the most of my college experience. I was able to pay a year of my tuition alongside other scholarships I gained which has opened the possibility to attend college. I’ve gained friends, memories, contacts, and most importantly; opportunities.

As a 2023 Latina recipient of the Latinos Unidos Scholarship, I was able to continue studying during the 2023 fall semester to obtain my transfer associates of liberal arts. The scholarship has helped me pay for the bearing costs of my classes, books, and online learning platform subscriptions. I plan to continue my studies this spring and am counting on the scholarship to purchase materials for my late start classes in March. Thank you again for all of your help it means the world to me!

The Latinos Unidos of Iowa Scholarship has helped me relieve some of my financial burden that college produces. This scholarship has also helped me recognize the community that is out there, willing to help Latinos and support them on their journey. This community allows me to feel comfortable in my identity when I sometimes feel like I am the only one.
The Latinos Unidos of Iowa Scholarship has helped me accomplish one of my biggest goals: attending the 4 year, university of my dreams. Without their financial support I wouldn’t be able to be here. The Latinos Unidos of Iowa community is very welcoming, and together we are all changing society by showing that Latinos can make it too!
My name is Noemi Vega, and I am a first-generation college student at Central College. I was born and raised in Osceola, Iowa but my mom and dad are both from Jalisco, Mexico. I am blessed to have the support of Latinos Unidos, without their support, I would not be able to attend college!
